PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The exponential growth of Coaching and Mentoring in recent years has made ensuring the well-being and continuous development of professionals practicing these disciplines more relevant than ever. In this context, Supervision is presented as an essential resource and a strategic investment: it protects the integrity of all parties involved, guarantees process effectiveness, and sustains quality and warmth in client care. According to a study by Hawkins and Schwenk (2006), 88% of professional organizations and 86% of surveyed coaches and mentors consider that continuous, regulated supervision of their sessions contributes to optimizing their professional performance.
This training introduces participants to the supervisor role and the Kaleidoscope Supervision model (VERGARA Kaleidoscope) developed by Isora Neurociencia: a set of peer supervision techniques where each participant gains knowledge and insight from all involved colleagues, contrasting with more rigid, directive approaches.
Upon completing the training, participants will have attained the following competencies:
- ✓Conceptual competencies: understanding what Supervision is, its formative, supportive, and normative functions, and its differences from other accompaniment modalities.
- ✓Practical competencies: ability to apply systemic thinking and reflective tools within a supervision space, as well as establishing the contract and tripartite alliance.
- ✓Attitudinal competencies: an ethical, reflective, and collaborative posture oriented toward professional care and client service quality.
The professional benefit is direct: participants incorporate a working framework aligned with EMCC Global, Association for Coaching (AC), and International Coaching Federation (ICF) standards, reinforcing their practice with internationally recognized quality criteria.
The value of accredited training is not merely formal. The 2022 Global Consumer Awareness Study indicates that 85% of clients consider it important or very important for professionals to be accredited, whereas sector reality lags behind: a Grant et al. study revealed that only 50% of Australian supervisors had received Supervision training, and an equivalent study in France lowered that figure to 20%, with barely 36% planning to train.
Unlike programs that limit themselves to delivering content, this program is accredited by the world's three most prominent sector associations—ICF, EMCC Global, and Association for Coaching—and endorsed by URBE University. This triple accreditation not only guarantees content quality and faculty experience: it enables participants to obtain their individual accreditations more simply, quickly, and affordably, while also recognizing prior experience.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
General Objective
To train participants in the fundamentals, ethical framework, and essential tools of Coaching Supervision, enabling them to integrate it into their professional development and sustain a quality reflective practice.
Specific Objectives
- 1Define Supervision, as well as supervisor functions, competencies, and qualities, and its distinctions from other accompaniment modalities.
- 2Describe the Coaching Supervision process, five stages of learning, and development stages of both supervisor and supervisee.
- 3Apply systemic thinking to Supervision: open and closed systems, mental models, roles, relationships, boundaries, and leverage points activation.
- 4Manage the professional ethical and deontological framework—ICF, EMCC Global, and AC—including supervision contracting, tripartite alliance, psychological contract, and conflicts of interest.
- 4Distinguish linear thinking from systemic thinking in case analysis, and apply phenomenological observation as a baseline attitude prior to interpretation.
- 6Experience the Kaleidoscope Supervision model (VERGARA Kaleidoscope) through peer reflective practice.
ADMISSION PROFILE
The training is intended for practicing coaches and mentors who wish to incorporate Supervision into their professional practice, whether as supervisees or as a step toward developing as supervisors. It is equally relevant for HR professionals, internal coaching and mentoring program leaders in organizations, and accompaniment professionals working with practice reflection processes.
- ✓Knowledge level: prior training in Coaching or Mentoring is required. Providing a certificate proving the candidate as a graduated coach or mentor is an admission requirement.
- ✓Professionalization level: minimum prior experience conducting sessions with coaching or mentoring clients is required.
METHODOLOGY
The training is delivered online in a live synchronous virtual format, with session recordings available for subsequent viewing. The methodology combines conceptual presentation, reflective exercises, and participant triad practice, following the learn-by-doing principle: combining action and reflection to allow each professional to develop their own style.
CURRICULUM ITINERARY
Module 1
Introduction to Supervision
What is Supervision? Functions, competencies, and qualities of a supervisor. Differences between Supervision and other accompaniment modalities. The five stages of learning. The Coaching Supervision process. Development stages of supervisor and supervisee. Paradigm shift: understanding conflict beyond facts and recognizing why traditional views—focused on searching for causes, culprits, and linear explanations—are insufficient. Model comparison: characteristics and questions unique to linear versus systemic thinking, with practical case exercises.
Module 2
Ethics and Protocols
Ethics and codes of conduct: ICF, EMCC Global, and AC. Supervision contract and tripartite alliance. Psychological contract and establishing commitment. Conflicts of interest. Professional responsibility and commitment. Ethics in corporate environments.
Module 3
Systemic Thinking in Supervision
An experiential module structured across four blocks where systemic thinking transitions from conceptual content into an observable experience.
Block 1. Systems Foundations (1.5 hrs). The emergence of systemic thinking: from parts to the whole. What is a system and how does it apply to Supervision? Open and closed systems. System vs. model: mental models operating in Supervision. Human systems a person simultaneously belongs to: family, professional, social, and relational. Systemic properties: interdependence, equilibrium tendencies, systemic memory, and resistance to change.
Block 2. Systemic Orders in Supervision (2 hrs). Belonging: do I allow myself to belong to this supervisor lineage? Hierarchy: honoring those who came before, ancestors, and professional lineage. Balance between giving and receiving: receiving from masters and passing it forward. How these orders limit or enhance Supervision practice through Systemic Pedagogy.
Block 3. Experiential Systemic Constellations (1.5 hrs). Introduction to phenomenological observation as preparation for experiential work: the art of observing without interpreting; obstacles preventing it—judgments, beliefs, prior experiences, and the urge to help—and core attitudes of curiosity, humility, presence, listening, respect, and openness. Live observation of hidden dynamics within supervisor, supervisee, and client triads. Brief group constellation to resolve real-time systemic blocks using CHROMOS experiential methodology. How a supervisor's own systemic knots impact the Supervision process.
Block 4. Integration: Systemic Roles, Relationships, and Boundaries (1 hr). Triad roles from a systemic perspective, honoring every position. Healthy systemic relationships within the Supervision triad. Systemic boundaries and lever-point activation through order, combining CHROMOS experiential and strategic approaches.
Module 4
Philosophical Foundations and Application in Supervision
Phenomenology as a tool for situation study, building upon phenomenological observation introduced in Module 3. Hermeneutics for dialogue understanding. Analytical philosophy for the learning process. Existentialist philosophy and life projects. Reflection and self-criticism in Supervision practice.
Module 5
Psychological Tools in Supervision
Client resistance in Supervision. Satir categories: communication styles. Identification as a double-edged sword. Karpman drama triangle. Transference, projections, countertransference, and parallel processes. Conflict as a messenger applying orders from Module 3: what information it brings—exclusion, unacknowledged injustice, broken balance, invisible loyalty, unoccupied position, or unexpressed need—and distinguishing presenting symptoms from underlying sustaining systems.
Module 6
Emotional Intelligence Applications in Supervision
Relationship between mind, emotion, and behavior. The role of emotional intelligence in Supervision. State generation and management. Stress regulation and emotional hijacking. Mindfulness: application and practice types.
Module 7
Linguistic Skills
Internal processing filters and systems. Verbal and non-verbal communication. Resolving pending conversations. Separating facts, emotions, and beliefs. Cognitive biases. Creating, implementing, and using metaphors in Supervision.
Module 8
Beliefs and Values
Differences between beliefs and values. Origin, formation, and hierarchy of values. Focus Values Systems methodology applied to Supervision: individual and collective values diagnosis. Consciousness levels. Vulnerability of Supervision agents. Identifying strengths and development areas.
Module 9
Intervention Models in Supervision
Motivational interviewing. VERGARA kaleidoscope methodology. Hawkins seven-eyed model. Five managerial mindsets model. Systemic iceberg model as a case analysis tool: visible level—facts, behaviors, discussions, decisions, arguments—vs. invisible level—loyalties, exclusions, fears, guilt, identifications, traumas, belonging needs—with short case observation practice. Psychotherapy-based Supervision models. Developmental and integrative Supervision models.
Module 10
Neuroscience in Listening
Neuroemotions and brain neuroplasticity. Importance of language as a neurophysiological component. Neuroscience as a training formula for listening and its application in coach Supervision. Congruence in a Supervision process: psychoneuroendocrinoimmunology.
Module 11
Group Supervision
Foundations of Group Supervision. Securing individual and group commitment. Group Supervision dynamics and practice. Supervisor functions, tasks, and responsibilities. Group configuration and team building. Role differences in teams. Conclusions, reflections, and closing.
PRACTICE AND EVALUATION
Training does not end in the classroom. The program incorporates a mandatory supervised practice path, serving as its core differentiator in the market:
